One lesson I learned when would be, when you get swats for doing something wrong or fighting with your brother's or sister's, don't walk out of the room laughing about it or your dad will call you back and give you more swats.
That happened to me when I was 10, my dad gave me swats for fighting with my brothers. After I walked out of the room laughing he called me back and gave me even more and they hurt a lot more that time. I won't do that again.

I'm laughing as I read that. You're right, that's probably not a wise idea. My mom got mad at me one day when I was 14 and decided she was going to spank me for back talking her (which she hadn't done in years). At first I just stood there, but as she kept on, I pretended like it really hurt and she stopped. Ha!
